What does facade maintenance include?

Facade maintenance covers inspection, coating renewal, render repair, crack treatment, joint resealing, organic growth removal, and protective coating application. The scope depends on your building's condition — an inspection will define exactly what's needed.

Can facade work be done without scaffolding?

Yes. We use rope access to work on facades of any height without scaffolding — faster to set up, lower overall cost, and minimal disruption to residents and building operations.

Do you work on heritage buildings?

Yes. We have experience working on heritage facades and understand the specific requirements around original materials, approved products and heritage sensitivity. We can advise on appropriate treatments before any work begins.

Do you provide condition reports?

Yes. Every inspection includes a written condition report with photographs, defect locations, priority classifications and recommended actions. You have a formal record of your building's condition.

What products do you use on facades?

We are Dulux Accredited and primarily specify Dulux protective coating systems. Where required or requested we also work with other leading brands. Every product is selected to match the substrate type, exposure level and performance requirements of your specific building.

How often should a facade be professionally inspected?

We recommend a professional facade inspection every 1–3 years. Coastal buildings and older properties should be inspected more frequently. Annual inspection catches issues early when they're still inexpensive to address.

What causes facade coating failure?

UV exposure, water penetration, thermal movement, organic growth and poor original application are the most common causes. Buildings in coastal environments and those that haven't been maintained on a regular cycle are most at risk.

What is the difference between facade maintenance and remedial repairs?

Facade maintenance is the regular protective upkeep of the outer surface — coatings, joints, cleaning. Remedial repairs address structural damage — concrete cancer, spalling, rebar corrosion. Many buildings need both, and we assess and scope both in a single inspection.

How do you minimise disruption to residents?

We plan all works around building occupancy, notify residents in advance, and use rope access wherever possible to avoid blocking entries, car parks and common areas. Most facade works can be completed without disrupting daily building operations.

What certifications do you hold?

Our team holds IRATA and SPRAT rope access qualifications, public liability and workers compensation insurance, First Aid, Police Checks, Working with Children, Height Safety System Installation and Testing, EWP over 11m, Asbestos Awareness, Confined Spaces, and Painting and Decorating trade qualifications. Every job is staffed with the right people for the scope of work.
