Professional pressure washing and soft washing services for building facades, driveways, paths, car parks and hard surfaces across Sydney.

Algae, mould, lichen and moss produce organic acids that actively degrade concrete, render and paint coatings — turning a cleaning problem into a structural one.

Green algae produces moisture-retaining films and organic acids that actively break down concrete and coating surfaces beneath them.

Dark vertical streaking down rendered or painted surfaces indicates mould colonisation and active coating degradation beneath.

Lichen physically penetrates masonry surfaces with rootlets, causing microcracking and accelerating long-term surface breakdown.

Contamination that has chemically bonded to the surface cannot be removed by standard cleaning — it requires professional pressure treatment.

Blocked drainage forces stormwater across paths and car parks, accelerating biological growth and creating permanent slip hazards.

UPKEEP provides rope access painting, facade maintenance, concrete repairs, remedial works, sealant replacement, soft washing, window cleaning, roof cleaning, anchor testing and building inspections throughout Sydney.
Whether a project requires rope access, EWP access, ladders or ground-based access, we use the safest and most efficient method to complete painting, remedial and maintenance works.
Pressure washing uses high-pressure water to mechanically remove grime, mineral deposits and heavy soiling from hard surfaces. Soft washing uses low pressure combined with a biocide or detergent solution to kill and remove biological growth from softer surfaces. The right method depends on the surface type and contamination.
Concrete, brick, natural stone, pavers, metal, timber decking and most hard surfaces. Painted surfaces, render, heritage materials and roof tiles require soft washing rather than high-pressure treatment.
Always. A contaminated or dirty surface will prevent paint adhesion and void most product warranties. Professional cleaning is a mandatory step in any quality painting programme — not optional.
Most staining caused by biological growth, pollution and general soiling can be fully removed with the correct method. Permanent staining caused by rust, mineral etching or chemical damage may not be fully reversible — we will advise during the assessment if this is likely.
We protect drains, landscaping, vehicles and adjacent surfaces before any work begins. Runoff is managed and contained where required. We take responsibility for the full work area, not just the surface being cleaned.
In the wrong hands, yes. Incorrect PSI, the wrong nozzle or the wrong technique on painted, rendered or heritage surfaces causes permanent etching and surface damage. We assess every surface before selecting the method and settings — and we never apply pressure that the surface can't handle.
The residual biocide typically prevents biological regrowth for 1–3 years depending on the product used, the level of shade and moisture on the surface, and the local environment. Coastal and shaded surfaces will see regrowth sooner.
Yes. We use rope access to clean building facades, roofs and high-level surfaces at any height — safely, without scaffolding and with minimal disruption to building operations.
Yes where appropriate. Soft washing uses diluted biocides and detergents selected for the specific contamination and surface type. All products are handled and applied safely in accordance with manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
Our team holds IRATA and SPRAT rope access qualifications, public liability and workers compensation insurance, First Aid, Police Checks, Working with Children, Height Safety System Installation and Testing, EWP over 11m, Asbestos Awareness, Confined Spaces, and Painting and Decorating trade qualifications. Every job is staffed with the right people for the scope of work.
